🗣 Evangelism Comes to Saint Miriam this Lent: First of Two Gatherings is Today!

Since Pope John Paul II called the Church to a new “horizon of evangelization,” there has been increased interest in the mission of evangelization. Parishes and dioceses throughout the United States have active evangelization teams and offices of evangelization. Yet, as central as evangelization is to the mission and life of the Church, there is still reluctance on the part of many Catholics to become involved in it. Why? Simple: Catholics Don’t Do that! Well, we were actually once a mission parish and look at what we’ve become together? So, we would like to begin with a brief introduction to evangelism – spreading the word – about us and the Old Catholic Church and then set ourselves up for even greater success in the three main areas. We will begin on Sunday, March 26th, at 12:00pm with  our opening topic, “How to Be One Hell of a Catholic Evangelist”!

🔘 Gluten-Free Hosts Available at Every Mass!

Did you know that Gluten-Free Communion Wafers are available at every Mass? We consecrate several gluten-free wafers and all you need to do is ask when you approach the priest for Holy Communion! Here is a good method:

  • Priest: The Body of Christ!
  • Communicant: Amen! Father, may I please have a gluten free host?

✝️ Lenten Adoration Begins Wednesday!

We will also hold a beautiful Lenten Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 29th to Mass on Thursday evening, March 30th at 6:00pm. Join us as we wait with our Lord.  Sign up in the Library!

🍍Here We Grow Again…Welcome Kate!

♨️ Incense Changes Coming!

Our Pastor made a switch to Monastery Incense after his recent visit there! Since 1985, thousands of churches throughout the United States have discovered Monastery Incense is the solution to “the incense problem” in their parish! The highest quality church incense should burn smoothly and evenly, and this is exactly what you will discover in Monastery Incense. So what makes Monastery Incense unique?

  • Consistently pleasing and long-lasting fragrance
  • No choking or burnout
  • Doesn’t “gum up” and kill the charcoal
  • No more “incense allergies”

Join us and enjoy the aroma of incense again! And, watch for a special announcement coming up on Adoration, too!

👓 Use The “Read More” Tab!

Our newsletter is getting larger so we added a ‘Read More” tab every week after the “The News” Section! Please be sure to click to read on or you will miss the ‘rest of the story’!

Our Children are very important to us and as a “Safe Parish” our Pastor mandates criminal background checks on all ministry team, staff, educators and volunteers that work or support in volunteering within our parish and schools every year. Mrs. Pat Wilcke will be taking over the coordination of this effort. If you are in need a renewal or an update, or need to complete your file, please contact or see her soon. ✝️ A Beautiful Lent at Saint Miriam Continues…

Get ready for a different kind of Lent this year! Lent is here and it brings to some wonderful ways at Saint Miriam to deepen your Lenten Experience. Learn more and sign up for all of these events, by Clicking Here! Here is a quick overview!

  • Join us on Thursday, March 2nd, and every Thursday in Lent at 6:30pm for our Stations of the Cross devotional.
  • The First Sunday of Lent, March 5th, we will have an “Instructed Eucharist” at the 10:30am Morning Mass where Monsignor Jim will explain the meaning behind the actions of the Mass.
  • We will also hold a beautiful Lenten Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 29th to Mass on Thursday evening, March 30th at 6:00pm. Join us as we wait with our Lord.
  • Finally, be sure to join us for a wonderful Lenten Retreat on Saturday, March 18th with Sr. Eleanor Francis who will then join Monsignor and concelebrate the 10:30am Mass on Sunday, March 19th! A beautifully moving Lent is coming! Get ready and prepare a way for the Lord in your life!
  • Evangelism and You! We will begin on  Sunday, March 26th, at 12:00pm with  our opening topic, “How to Be One Hell of a Catholic Evangelist”!

🗣Evangelism Comes to Saint Miriam this Lent: First Gathering is Sunday, March 19th!

Monsignor make a mistake! (Hard to believe, huh?) But since Sr. Eleanor will be doing an adult forum this weekend, he moved his first and second classes into one next week! So, Join us! So, we would like to begin with a brief introduction to evangelism ‘spreading the word’ about us and the Old Catholic Church and then set ourselves up for even greater success in the three main areas. We will begin on Sunday, March 26th, at 12:00pm with  our opening topic, “How to Be One Hell of a Catholic Evangelist!”

🍍Welcome Donna Mitchell to Our Parish Board!

Every Board member, except for the Executive Board, has imposed term limits for 2-4 years. Many of them automatically renew, but this year a couple members wish to finally step down after several such renewals; who could blame them? They have served well and helped us to be where we are today! So, we are excited to welcome Ms. Donna Mitchell who fill one such position, and we are hoping that someone new will help us by volunteering to serve for a two-year term? We need new wine to continue to strengthen, and to challenge, the status quo! Please see me, or  email me, if you are so inspired. We would be grateful and certainly can use your talent and voice! Welcome Donna!

✈️ Monsignor Away to the South!

Father Jim will not be with us this weekend, as he will be traveling to St. Padre Pio for a diocesan pastoral visit and to confirm five new Catholics! However, he leaves us in the very capable hands of Father Bryan! Pray for our pastor, the Confirmandi, and their ministry team, but always pray for one another, too!

🗣Evangelism Comes to Saint Miriam this Lent: First Gathering is Sunday, March 19th!

We will begin on Sunday, March 19th, at 12:00pm with  our opening topic, “How to Be One Hell of a Catholic Evangelist”!

Pray for our parish leadership, especially our pastor who bears the biggest weight; pray for our ministry team, school, volunteers, and all who sacrifice to make Saint Miriam possible. We will also send out reminders through our pastoral care prayer team, too. Pray…it is what Christians do!

📿A Saint Miriam Novena: Sign Up Today to Pray! A Novena is a form of worship within the greater Catholic Church consisting of special prayers, or services, on nine successive days. We have received the gift of our own Novena this week and we will use it this coming Lent! A Novena to St. Miriam was written by Mr. Eric Healy, Holy Infant Parish, on the occasion of the Baptism of his daughter, Abigail Miriam Healy. Please visit the Novena by Clicking Here and see Deacon Pat to be included this Lent as we pray it for the first time!

View Our Full Rectory Plans Now OnLine & Help Us Build! View the full gallery at our website now to see how the new Friary Rectory will look! Click Here and help us begin to grow a place for our priests today! Our priests give their lives for us and sacrifice in many ways. Monsignor has been living in an RV since we moved to our beautiful campus. But, many do not know the reason is that he sold his home and donated 100% of the proceeds to secure our mortgage here and he also pays for his RV every month on his own! However, Whitemarsh Township sent a notice that he is not permitted to reside on the campus in an RV and he must move immediately.  Therefore, with the generous help of David, Greg, and our team we have designed a new rectory! As you know, we offer many prayers for all of our benefactors, whether donations are large or small.  But, we are now praying intently for those souls who have the means to give us a larger gift. The building of our Friary Rectory must start in the spring, and we are in urgent need of gifts in the range of $5,000-$50,000 to ensure that will happen, but any size gift is welcome and will add up quickly! How we will beg Our Lord to reward you a hundred-fold above and beyond the measure with which you give to us! May God reward you! Thank you for your considerations and prayers. If you can support this effort, please see Alan or Monsignor, or email by Clicking Here.
