The Living Stations Presented on March 19th! Join the children of our (PREP) Parish Religious Educational Program will be once again presenting “The Living Stations”! This year’s beautiful performance of the Living Stations, a unique way to bring in the Passion and an exceptional means of contemplating Jesus’ love for humanity – that includes narration and performance – will take place at the parish on Saturday, March 19th at 5pm and is followed by a wonderful Lenten meal in the Undercroft space! Bring a friend, this is sure to be a wonderfully wholesome way to usher us into Holy Week!

📝 Register for ParishSoft TODAY! Our parish uses a software system called, ParishSoft, and it helps us to maintain a solid database of all parishioners, their sacraments and needs, as well as contact information for emergencies. The system also allows us to create a full-color parishioner booklet! To ensure that we have all needed – and correct – information on all members of Saint Miriam, Kathleen Duncan will begin to schedule brief meetings with members of the parish on Sunday, March 6th and 13th, and April 3rd and 10th. Week day appointments are also available in the parish office Monday-Thursday from 9:00am – 1:30pm – just call to arrange at 215-836-9800. Thank you for allowing us to update our data and make a beautiful keepsake booklet!

🎼 Sing with Charlie! The Saint Miriam Choir is growing quickly now (finally!) and we need you! No experience needed, only a love for music. Gather around the piano, make new friends, find another joy, and sing for the Lord! Meet up on Sundays at 10:20am in the sanctuary.

The game is played in teams where each team attempts to answer the most trivia questions correctly through ten rounds. Teams are limited to 10 people and all participants must be 21 years of age or older. Teams are encouraged to choose a theme and decorate their tables. Teams are welcome to bring their own food and beverage. Life is not meant to be lived alone. In fact, God hates loneliness. You were created to experience life with other people, and that’s why at Saint Miriam, we encourage you to get involved in one of our amazing Small Groups!

A ‘Small Group” is a group of three or more people who gather each month in a home, workplace, or oftentimes in our parish. In a group you’ll hang out, study, discuss, laugh, discover, and even pray together! They include Sacred Meal Dinner, Support, Foyer Dinner, Fitness, Spirituality, Women, Prayer Shawl Ministry, and so many more! Our Small Group participants come in all shapes and sizes — married couples, singles, men, women, kids, no kids, workplace, under 20, over 40 — the list goes on! So, no matter where you are in life, there’s a group waiting just for you.

Register for ParishSoft Starting in March! Lots of News From the PREP/CCD Educational Team!

A few PREP Education reminders as we quickly approach Lent!

1.  Please remember that each family MUST attend Two (2) Thursday Masses and Rosary.  So far this year, only 1 family has fulfilled this obligation.  There’s no better time than during Lent to make and extra sacrifice and increase our prayer.  During Lent, mass will begin at 6:00pm followed by a simple Stations of the Cross.  Please remember to sign in so that there is a record of your attendance.

2.  We will hold a Living Stations of the Cross on Saturday, March 19 at 5pm with the children will playing the parts.  We will be holding practices after class beginning in a few weeks.  This will require a schedule change for those weeks so that we may practice in the sanctuary after mass.  As we get closer, I will send out a reminder about this.

3.  SCHEDULE CHANGE – We will have class on March 20th (Palm Sunday), however, it will begin at 10:30.  We will all then attend the 11:00am Morning Mass and participate in the Palm Procession.

4.  Now that we are more than half way through the school year, I just wanted to remind everyone of your obligations.  Remember, in order to advance to the next grade in the fall, each child must have achieved each of the following badges.  Please remember, these are the requirements for all PREP students (except for PREPlay).  See our Saint Miriam Parish PREP Information and Expectations 2015-2016

 ….and a few reminders below.
  • Attendance badge (minimum of 25 classes and 2 Thursday masses) Some children have already missed several classes and will not meet this requirement.  In order to ensure progression in the program, you MUST contact me at your earliest convenience to set up a time when classes can be made-up.  Some families have already done this and I thank you!  PLEASE TRY YOUR BEST TO HAVE YOUR CHILDREN AT MASS AND CLASS EACH WEEK!!
  • Service work badge (completed required service hours) Please continue to keep track of service hours.  Log sheets will be collected prior to the recognition mass in May.  Please refer to the letter you were given at the beginning of the year for the number of required hours.  I have also attached it to this e-mail for your convenience.  Please let me know if you need an additional sheet.
  • Stewardship badge (missed no more than four weeks of giving)  I am happy to report that most children have been using their envelopes and have adequately been completing their stewardship obligation.  Please remember that if you need more envelopes please see me.  If you forget an envelope, please just ask the greeter to get you one.  Also, always put your child’s name on their envelope so that they receive credit for it.
  • Class work/Homework badge (completed at least 80% of required assignments) Please be sure to always check your child’s folder each week.  Some folders still have items in there from the fall.  Please remove any old items unless told otherwise by their teacher.  Also, while homework isn’t given every week, it is important to check the folder to ensure that your child does his/her homework.
  • Family participation badge (attended or sold tickets for at least one church event) ALL families were required to either buy or sell 4 tickets for the Silent Auction and Concert.  If you still have not made your contribution, please do so at your earliest convenience and please note that it was for the Concert.

Scrip works equally well for onetime fundraising goals or year-round programs. Download the Categorized Family Order Form or see anyone on Staff to pre-order (or check out our in-stock cards by calling 215-836-9800 x 707) and join in and watch us grow…all because of you!

Saint Miriam in Petite: Small Groups!

So, no matter where you are in life, there’s a group waiting
just for you.
