Today we … honor the Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time and The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi!

Prayer Shawl Group Moves to Sunday!  Our Prayer Shawl Ministry Group will begin to meet on the 4th Sunday of every month in the Undercroft from 10:00am to 11:00am. Join the prayer shawl team and make a difference by bringing comfort!
 
Boy Scouts Troop Extend Invite!  Saint Miriam hosts local Boy Scout Troop #320 and they extended an invitation to attend the Boy Scout’s Fall Family Picnic and Court of Honor.  The Picnic and Court of Honor will be held on Saturday, October 10th, starting at 2:00pm at the Militia Hill Pavilion (off Joshua Road) of Fort Washington State Park. The Picnic would be a great opportunity to meet our scouts, leaders & their families and visa versa. The Court of Honor is the ceremony to acknowledge the scouts for the accolades, badges and ranks they have earned over the past Summer. In addition, the Troop will be dedicating two dogwood trees in memory of two Leaders that have left us too early.  Join them, enjoy a picnic, and support their mission!

Boy Scout Liaison Named!  Our own David Olson will serve as liaison to the Boy Scout Troop! David is an Eagle Scout so it is a good fit! Thanks, David, for serving in yet another way!
 

Master Calendar Updated!  Our Master Parish Calendar now has a Weekly Schedule! Making it easier to navigate!

Secular Franciscans to Meet!  Join us as we honor St Francis on Sunday, October 25th at 1:00pm and become part of the secular group! All are welcome and pets great and small, too! Welcome to a beautiful fall tradition!

Pumpkin Patch Arrives!  The Zion Preschool at Saint Miriam  annual Pumpkin Patch begins September 26th and runs through October 31st! Get your pumpkins and support the school and parish! Join Us For a Financial Seminar!  Saint Miriam’s own Michael Conk will host a seminar on October 15th.  Our topic will be Medicare and we are flying in a subject expert to speak on this topic.  This should be a fantastic event as we have received great feedback from events he’s done for us in the past!  We will have a cocktail hour with wine and heavy hors d’oeuvrs beginning at 5:30 and then the workshop will begin at 6:30pm! 2015 Annual Youth Mass Coming in October!  Our second annual Youth Mass will be Sunday, October 18th during the 9:00am Family Mass.  As we did last year, the children will each take on various roles before and during the Mass. Join us for this warm event!

Please Guide Your Children at Play…  Saint Miriam has a lot of new space! This also means we have lots of rooms where children can play. However, sometimes they get into stuff when left alone. Please guide you children in the designated play areas, and/or check on the areas one final time before you leave? Thank you for making Saint Miriam safe and fun for all generations!

Many volunteers and service organizations utilize our space, plus we are home to City of Zion Church, who rent our space weekly. Please be observant of times and rooms posted. Also, no food is permitted on the main floor level of our parish, nor is smoking permitted on our campus. If you see violations of this policy, or come across a group that does not ‘tidy up’ after their use, please let someone know of staff ASAP. Thank you for helping us keep the new parish clean!
 
Something Good Is Coming!  Join us for InGathering 2015 on September 27th at the Morning Mass at 11:00am and experience a new tradition at Saint Miriam! Something good…
 
Zion Preschool at SM Security Note:  Our preschool operates weekdays M-F from 8:00am until 4:00pm. During these hours please use the Administration entrance, identify yourself and receive a “Visitor Tag” even for parish business. Our children’s safety is all of our concern.

Today we … honor the Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time!

Meet The pastor Today for “The Sunday Buzz”Saint Miriam is not done yet with the needed fund raising and our building plans continue. Meet Monsignor Jim after the first three Masses in the Betsy and Walter Diener Room and get answers to your questions, concerns, etc.  Please get facts before we end up with unintended misinformation.
 
Sexton Position Open.  Saint Miriam is seeking a part-time qualified Sexton. If you know of someone seeking employment, please have them submit their application. All applicants MUST be able to pass a full background check including an FBI clearance to protect the children on our school. Interviews begin next week!
 
PREP Returns Sept. 20th!  Welcome back to PREP Students and their families now in our new home!  We will have a parent meeting on Sunday, September 20th after the 9:00am Mass to go over a few things, show you the classroom space we will be using and give you an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher.  PREP classes will officially begin the following Sunday, September 27th. Also, as a reminder, the first Sunday Mass in our beautiful new space will be this Sunday, September 6th.  The official Mass of Consecration will be the following Sunday, September at the 11:00am Mass. It will be a sight to behold so join us!
 
Please Guide Your Children at Play…  Saint Miriam has a lot of new space! This also means we have lots of rooms where children can play. However, sometimes they get into stuff when left alone. Last weekend, we had a few issues with paint and Play-doh being left out, which caused some of the items to be unusable. Cafe’ Transitions Every Week!  The Saint Miriam Cafe transitions at the end of every Sunday to allow the Zion Preschool at Saint Miriam to utilize the space for dining and playtime, in in inclement weather. Please support this effort with a little help every weekend?
 
Pumpkin Patch Delivery Help Needed!  The Zion Preschool at Saint Miriam  has an annual tradition…a Pumpkin Patch, and the pumpkins arrive Saturday September 26th at 3:00pm – if you can help unload some pumpkins, please email us or see Kathleen Duncan! See you at the pumpkin patch!

Today we … honor the Twenty-Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time and Consecration Weekend!

Today We Consecrate & Give Thanks!  Today we pause and thank God for our beautiful space as we ask for God’s blessings on our space and work here! The work and journey is not over and much is yet to do, but today we pause and say THANK YOU! Thank you to all who helped make it so! You are all very special…thank you!
 
Awards of Love Also Today! Many hands helped make our renovations possible, but there were a few stand outs who deserve our mention and a nice award, too! Today we honor these fine folks!

Early Mass: 7:30am
Family Mass: 9:00am
Morning Mass: 11:00am
Late Mass: 4:30pm
 
Another Baby! Congratulations to the Hazelton’s! Marie’s daughter and her husband welcomed Thatcher James in at 10 pounds and 10 ounces this week!
