Saint Miriam Life & News!

A “Thank You” From My Heart: On behalf of myself, and my mom, Ruth, and my sister, Andrea, thank you to all who helped us in our time of great grief. My father was not known to you, but he is alive and well in everything we do, for it was my dad and mom who taught me how to give selflessly. It is because of them – and their love and the manner in which they brought me up – that we have created Saint Miriam. So, thank you. Thank you for all your love, cards, financial support, and mass intentions. My father would be humbled and will live now in each of us. I am so very proud to be your pastor.

– Msgr +Jim, Pastor

What’s the “V” for?: The new addition to our Hymn board will make it easier for you to know which verse of the Alleluia we will be using for the particular Sunday you are attending! So, belt it out and proclaim the Gospel of Christ!

A Brand New Day for Saint Miriam!

Choosing-the-best-online-survey-softwareCommunication is essential. It is the key to every good and strong relationship, especially when two are within the same covenant. I spoke a lot about the Saint Miriam Covenant last week in my homily and how it ties to our Baptismal Covenant as Christians. I also addressed some concerns related to communication and how to better address our growing pains in the last few issues of this publication. Today, I would like to inform you about some more upcoming enhancements and changes that I hope will make us a stronger community. But, as with all changes, and decisions, if I am willing to talk about them, you must be willing to come and talk to me with any feedback or suggestions. Communication is the vital key!

These changes were all about listening to those who responded to our annual Winter Survey! We discovered that many were not engaged enough in the old and often outdated communication tools such as a weekly newsletter, a monthly eNewsletter and even the Text alerts seems to be of little interest in a world that stimulates us with so much data. We had to find a way to stand out! So, welcome to the new site for communication and a brand new App available on Android and Apple Devices!

We will now be able to update daily, ‘push’ notifications for timely information and otherwise keep everyone in the loop! Download it today and our new app will give our on-the-go congregation our latest sermon in the form of audio, right on their phone or tablet. Saint Miriam will basically go wherever they go!

Connect our congregation by sharing our ministry insights through our weekly blog, turning it into a daily or weekly devotional!

Allow us to effortlessly communicate with our congregation members by giving us the ability to communicate upcoming events, publish our monthly newsletter, and even upload weekly Sunday bulletins, all within the app itself!

Connect everyone to our service times, give a little snippet on our parish, and provide direct-connection to all our social media channels such as Youtube, Vimeo, Facebook, and Twitter!
So now instead of creating a bulletin or newsletter or waiting to announce upcoming events on a Sunday, we can simply send reminders or updates using push notifications from within our church app builder to your smart device!

Welcome to the new century! Welcome to Saint Miriam; a parish that listens – and hears – better!
