“the first time I sang in the church choir; two hundred people changed their religion”

How Do I Meet People?
Saint Miriam is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant parish community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at our vibrant parish!
Small Groups
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our parish has small groups held in member homes and at the parish, too!. The size of the group is anywhere from four to ten people. At a time designated by your group leader you can participate in any of the various small groups.
Youth Ministry & PREP
Each week., children get to participate in their own Parish Religious Education Classes (PREP) classes. Lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The Saint Miriam Youth Group meets monthly and engages the world in meaningful ways to give back to their community and is recognized for their meaningful interaction with service projects.
Secular Franciscans
Life can get complicated and God calls all the time! Perhaps God is calling you to a deeper way of life, based on the ideals of St. Francis? If so, the Secular Franciscans may just be what you are looking for, or have been searching for? Find out more by a visit to our Secular Franciscans page and begin a new way of life and love!
Women’s Group
The Women of Saint Miriam group give the ladies in our parish family special times of interaction. Our women’s group meets monthly and do great work together (and, of course, enjoy food and fun). This group provides a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
Married Couples
Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. The church gives married couples the opportunity to join Marriage PREP (Pre Cana) classes that include topics such as Marriage and Money, Getting Ready for Children, Shepherding Children, Families, and Marriage and Sex.
The Over 50’s Crew
Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun! Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of Saint Miriam provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.
