Today we honor The Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time!

💟 Join us for Ash Wednesday and Love Lent Again!
Lent begins with Ash Wednesday! Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, and spiritual discipline. Ash Wednesday emphasizes two themes: our sinfulness before God, and our human mortality. Our services focus on both themes, helping us to realize that both have been triumphed through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Join us at 12:15pm for a simple service of Ashes and Prayers, and then at 6:30pm for Ash Wednesday Mass! Begin your Lent with Saint Miriam.
✝️ A Beautiful Lent at Saint Miriam!
Get ready for a different kind of Lent this year! Believe it or not,  is almost Lent and Saint Miriam has many wonderful opportunities to deepen your Lenten Experience. First, on Ash Wednesday, March 1st we will hold two services at 12:15pm and 6:30pm; Then, join us on Thursday, March 2nd, and every Thursday in Lent at 6:30pm for our Stations of the Cross devotional. The First Sunday of Lent, March 5th, we will have an “Instructed Eucharist” at the 10:30am Morning Mass where Monsignor Jim will explain the meaning behind the actions of the Mass. We will also hold a beautiful Lenten Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 29th to Mass on Thursday evening, March 30th at 6:00pm; join us as we wait with our Lord. Finally, be sure to join us for a wonderful Lenten Retreat on Saturday, March 18th with Sr. Eleanor Francis who will then join Monsignor and concelebrate the 10:30am Mass on Sunday, March 19th! A beautifully moving Lent is coming! Get ready and prepare a way for the Lord in your life!
👨🏼‍🏫‍‍‍‍‍ An Instructed Eucharist Comes in Lent to Saint Miriam Next Sunday, March 5th!
Many parishioners enjoyed the last time this was done by our pastor and some have expressed a desire for some sort of real-time worship teaching or commentary, which would shed light on the various elements of the Mass. Such a teaching service is often known as an “Instructed Eucharist.” In an Instructed Eucharist the different parts of the service are described: their history, purpose, and rubrics are explained and will take place at the 10:30am Mass on Sunday, March 5th, The First Sunday of Lent to begin to deepen our affection for the Sacrifice of the Mass and our love our Our Lord! Join Monsignor Jim for a wonderful instructed way to learn and grow this Lent!

🔘Gluten-Free Hosts ARE Available at Every Mass!

Did you know that Gluten-Free Communion Wafers are available at every Mass? We consecrate several gluten-free wafers and all you need to do is ask when you approach the priest for Holy Communion! Here is a good method:
Priest: The Body of Christ!
Communicant: Amen! Father, may I please have a gluten free host?
It’s that simple!
Greeters, Ushers,  Crucifers, and Acolytes, Oh My!
This Lenten Season, Monsignor Jim has requested a revamping of the Greeters, Ushers, Crucifers, and Acolytes in an effort to involve more people, and to offer more coverage for every Mass. It is not fair for a parish of our size to ‘see’ the same people always serving in the same roles. It is also a principle cause for burning out! Therefore, we will begin to ‘share things up a bit’ and request that our Greeters and Ushers assigned help folks into the parish as well as usher you out of your pews for Holy Communion. We would also like more children to serve the altar; will you ask your child to become an acolytes in 2017? Please see Deacon Pat or Father Jim this week!

A Novena to St. Miriam was written by Mr. Eric Healy, Holy Infant Parish, on the occasion of the Baptism of his daughter, Abigail Miriam Healy. Please visit the Novena by

Evangelism Comes to Saint Miriam this Lent: The Dirty Word in Catholics?
Since Pope John Paul II called the Church to a new “horizon of evangelization,” there has been increased interest in the mission of evangelization. Parishes and dioceses throughout the United States have active evangelization teams and offices of evangelization. Yet, as central as evangelization is to the mission and life of the Church, there is still reluctance on the part of many Catholics to become involved in it. Why? Simple: Catholics Don’t Do that!
Well, we were actually once a mission parish and look at what we’ve become together? So, we would like to begin with a brief introduction to evangelism – spreading the word – about us and the Old Catholic Church and then set ourselves up for even greater success in the three main areas. The idea is rather simple: after a time of formation this Lent, three teams will be formed. The first team will focus on enriching the actively practicing and involved Catholics in the parish. The second team will reach out to lapsed Catholics in the parish. The third team will contact non-Catholics by providing informal visits to their homes or to public venues for a brief introduction to all that we are at Saint Miriam.
The overall three main areas of our evangelism will encompass (1) Bible, (2) Christ, and (3) The Church. Scripture is the word of God in human language and a source of Divine wisdom. Christ is the Word of God incarnate for us, and the Church is the household of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth made manifest for our worship and God’s glory and praise!
We will begin with prayer and contemplation through three classes on Sundays (March 19th, 26th, and April 2nd), as an active participant with God to evangelize the community. Scriptural prayer allows us to understand our own lived experience and the experiences of others so that we can present Christ and his gospel in a way that is relevant and life-giving. Only this will bring true peace, justice, and freedom to our world, and only this will satisfy the longing of the human heart.
We will begin on Sunday, March 19th, at 12:00pm with  our opening topic, “How to Be One Hell of a Catholic Evangelist”!
🏁 We Are STILL Not There! Help Take Us Over The Finish Line?
Please help us get over the finish line! We just went over $20,000, but need your help today! We are trying to give Monsigner a salary of $25,000 a year. Is he worth not more for all he does, and the countless hours he spends caring for us? Please read his letter included in this week’s Focus after all Masses and then donate by Clicking Here!

View Our Full Rectory Plans Now OnLine & Help Us Build! View the full gallery at our website now to see how the new Friary Rectory will look! Click Here and help us begin to grow a place for our priests today! Our priests give their lives for us and sacrifice in many ways. Monsignor has been living in an RV since we moved to our beautiful campus. But, many do not know the reason is that he sold his home and donated 100% of the proceeds to secure our mortgage here and he also pays for his RV every month on his own! However, Whitemarsh Township sent a notice that he is not permitted to reside on the campus in an RV and he must move immediately.  Therefore, with the generous help of David, Greg, and our team we have designed a new rectory! As you know, we offer many prayers for all of our benefactors, whether donations are large or small.  But, we are now praying intently for those souls who have the means to give us a larger gift. The building of our Friary Rectory must start in the spring, and we are in urgent need of gifts in the range of $5,000-$50,000 to ensure that will happen, but any size gift is welcome and will add up quickly! How we will beg Our Lord to reward you a hundred-fold above and beyond the measure with which you give to us! May God reward you! Thank you for your considerations and prayers. If you can support this effort, please see Alan or Monsignor, or email by Clicking Here.
