Saint Miriam in Life: Other News!

❗️Let Us Put Everyone Back On Schedule! Saint Miriam made a few changes to our schedule. One is temporary and one is permanent. The temporary one is for Thursday Masses at 6:00pm because from June – August we will only hold Masses when a priest is available to allow them some time to enjoy the summer. In September, the regular 6:00pm every Thursday will resume! However, Rosary will still be honored every week at 6:30pm on Thursdays with no interruption. The Sunday Late Mass at 4:00pm will end on Sunday, June 26th 2016. This is a permanent schedule change due to lack of enough participation.
👫 Register for PREP 2017! Fall registration is now open for PREP/CCD; please help us plan by registering early and saving on tuition by Clicking HereAn exciting fall is planned!
🐾 Welcome to the Family…St. Francis Joliet! Saint Miriam is proud to be a warm Franciscan Catholic community of faith and also the home of three beautiful statues of St. Francis of Assisi! Now, coming in August, we will be home to the latest creation of Artist Timothy Schmalz who carved the beautiful Jesus at our entry door! Be part of something wonderful! Join us next week and discover St. Francis Joliet!
🍃 Meet Us on the West Lawn June 12th! The Saint Miriam Coffee on the Lawn Group helps to welcome newcomers with a special coffee and tea service on the beautiful west lawn of the parish from May – September on the 2nd Sunday. Special treats, tea sandwiches, delicious petifores, and pastries, are always served. For more information, or to join us, please  contact us today!
💔 Help us Save a Life? As our parish grows, so do the needs to care for one another and be prepared. We have invested heavily this past year in upgrades and security, but one area we need to address is those with heart issues. Monsignor has asked that we install a AED device (Automated External Defibrillator), a lightweight, portable device that delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart. The shock can stop an irregular heart rhythm and allow a normal rhythm to resume following sudden cardiac arrest. Sudden cardiac arrest is an abrupt loss of heart function. If it’s not treated within minutes, it quickly leads to death. Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. Over 350,000 people will suffer from sudden cardiac arrest this year . It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere and at any age. An AED is the only effective treatment for restoring a regular heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest and is an easy to operate tool for someone with no medical background. If you can help, please see our pastor today. The life saved could be your own.
📸 Get Your Camera Ready for a Summer Photo Contest!! A great opportunity to provide amatuer photographers from around the area to communicate and to enrich image-making culture by creatively viewing our rich and varied campus at Saint Miriam. We have assembled a panel of judges, experts in their fields, for the final round and they will discuss the qualities that make a great image before choosing the category winners. Learn More HereSimply visit the campus over June, July, and August and take your photographs and then upload them HERE! We will post all entries and then judge them and post the winner this September.
⏱ Help Us Schedule Our Schedules? Our new Ministry Team Schedules and Master Calendars are becoming more complex for us to integrate into our busy parish life so we thought we would ask someone to volunteer to help. If you can work with Excel, PDF, and are familiar with Google Calendars…we need you! It would only take a couple hours a month at most! Please see our pastor to help us out and make life easier!
