👊🏼 Yard Signs: You and US!

We often try and find new and innovative ways to spread the word about this wonderful parish we call home. Now, you can help! Please pick up a yard sign today from anyone on our team after Mass and take it home and display it in your front yard. At the end of the month, return it to us so we can hand it out to another family to do the same! Through your efforts, we will continue to spread the word about Saint Miriam and save marketing costs, too!

⏰ Attention!!! Mass Time Changes!

After much thought, reflection, and listening to all of you, Monsignor has made a decision to make a change to our Mass times! Our 11:00am Morning Mass will soon become the new 10:30am Morning Mass effective next Sunday, the First Sunday of Advent, November 27th! Join us for our new Mass schedule line up of 7:30am (Early Mass), 9:00am (Family Mass), and 10:30am (Morning Mass)!

🎄 Introducing the 2016 Giving Tree: The Saint Miriam Crystal Tree!

As we get closer to Christmas, we begin to turn our thoughts to those without and every year we open our generous spirits and wallets to help a child enjoy Christmas! Last year we were able to help four families with a full Christmas experience from food to trees to presents, too! This year we will try and out do ourselves by increasing that number and taking care of the Guadalupe Family Services in Camden where the poorest of the poor have over 480 children in need and NHS Group Home where we annually care for nine persons without a family to provide a Christmas! Join us and pick your favorite crystal ornament fro the tree located in the Betsy and Walter Diener Room and inside is a small piece of paper with a child’s wish! Grant it, return the tag and gift and be rewarded with the spirit of Christmas again!

👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 Congratulations Lexi and Family!

So this Friday is Lexi’s official adoption day!  As part of National Adoption Day, we will be represented at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown to honor the role we play in her life and the life of her family! As our own pastor was adopted (and we know what good that brought to us!) we are so very proud!

💒 The Year of Love Begins!

Our Church begins the “Year of Love” with the First Sunday in Advent! Over the past year, we as a church have been celebrating the Year of Mercy with our brothers and sisters in the Roman Church. We, as a church, voted at this year’s Synod to endorse the Presiding Bishop’s call for a Year of Love! We are called to strive to be as Christ, and love all; not just our friends and families, but those we encounter daily. We are called to be friendly and helpful, charitable and forgiving. Therefore, upon endorsement of the Synod, all clergy, and by their example; their parishioners shall act in love towards everyone. Let the love of Christ be a gift to the world through our Church. Let us set the example of love as we move forward into a new year of uncertainty, being certain only in God’s love for us and our love for others.  May the God of Love bless you all and may we never fail to share His love with all those we meet!

Every Thursday from 5:00pm – 6:00pm, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for adoration in the Sanctuary before our Thursday Mass at 6:00pm! Understood simply, Eucharistic Adoration is adoring or honoring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ. In a deeper sense, it involves “the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us”.  During Eucharistic Adoration, we “watch and wait”, we remain “silent” in His Presence and open ourselves to His Graces which flow from the Eucharist … By worshiping the Eucharistic Jesus, we become what God wants us to be! Like a magnet, The Lord draws us to Himself and gently transforms us. Join us every Thursday! Need 24 good reasons to come? Read this article!

Focus in Brief:  Our Weekly Announcements for November 6th 2016!

Today we honor the combined Feasts of …

The Solemnity of All Saints (All Saints’), and
The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls’)!

…and there’s Still Time!  Be Sure to Honor All Saints’ and All Souls’ 2016!

Praying for the living and the dead has always been a part of Catholic tradition and at Saint Miriam we will honor these very important feast days with the lighting of special candles! First, we will offer stunningly beautiful votive lights hanging from a large, simple branch over our Altar tended from our own wooded grounds at the edge of our cemetery. Then, on the evening of All Souls, at 6pm sharp, our cemetery will set aglow with the light of votive candles within beautiful star luminaries! Parishioners and the general public are invited!Purchase a luminary for your own remembrances, and why not consider adding a few extra so we can add a light to a grave of someone in our cemetery that no longer has anyone left to remember them? What an absolutely beautiful way to honor both the living (Saints) and the dead (souls) at Saint Miriam this All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day for 2016!  You may still make a memorial or honor online!

Honoring All Saints’ and All Souls’ 2016!

💒 Join Us Show Your Love for Our Pastor?

You can now track our progress toward our goal with the poster in the Bell Tower Lobby! A few weeks ago we asked for your support in building a pastor’s salary fund. Monsignor has worked for us for almost nine years now and has given much to help us remain a vibrant and growing parish. But, with his schedule ever increasing, he has not been able to take on the additional course work at the university he normally teaches at in the fall and spring terms; it simply will not fit into his parish schedule, and so he once again has made a sacrifice and declined the offer to teach this fall. This leaves him in a terribly tight financial position and quite honestly…is our problem to deal with now!  Monsignor has come to us and requested a salary of $25,000 (Yes, he asked for only $25,000 for all he does and the very long hours he works). Will you help us to afford this needed option by giving a weekly or monthly donation ear marked just for him? Please prayerfully consider our request and see Alan today, or just complete the special insert this Sunday and return it to us today….if you are willing to put our pastor first this fall. Email us to support today.

🙏🏼 Don’t Forget God This Week?

🎁Matching Gifts Make Giving Easy!

Sean Hall discovered that his company, United Heath Care and Optum, offered matching gifts for his donations to Saint Miriam! He applied and we were awarded the match!  How about your company? Did you ever inquire to see if your employer or club or social network offers assistance to parishes or schools? Your gift could double and help us grow without anything more from your own pocket! Please remember to ask…it never does hurt! Thanks, Sean!

💌 Join us and Give to build our Pastor’s Fund?

A few weeks ago we asked for your support in building a pastor’s salary fund. Monsignor has worked for us for almost 9 years now and has given much to help us remain a vibrant and growing parish.
