🚸 Many Ways to Help Our Children in 2016!

There are many ways to help our children become better adults and Christians, as well as better practicing Catholics, and this year we offer two wonderful means to bring a smile – and a little support – right to our school! First, why not think about purchasing a brick that will help in the building of a new pathway to our Saint Miriam Summer Playground area and forever create a legacy on our campus! For every donation of $100.00 to The Saint Miriam Fund receive a 4 x 8 Personalized Brick! (Special Size of 8 x 8 is Available for a Donation Amount of $250.00). Learn more about our needed bricks by Clicking Here! Or, you may also sponsor a child directly now! When you sponsor a child, you create a special relationship between you, a child in need, the community of Saint Miriam, and our team of caring professionals! Together, we are helping to change the future for children through a quality and affordable private education! For just $29 a month, or a one-time donation of only $350, you can provide essential aid and education to improve the well-being of every child that comes to our doors! And, because we actually feed our children during the school day, your donation not only helps give them a good education, you fill their bellies with wholesome food, too! It gives you the opportunity to witness young lives transformed for the future right here in Montgomery County! Learn more here.

Our Outdoor Stations will be displayed within our campus without risk of damage or deterioration from extremes of sunlight, moisture, or temperature. And, the Icons are guaranteed for a full five years! There will be 14 Stations icons (each 8″ x 12″, printed on metal) and 14 Shrines (15″ x 19 1/2″) and will include with 96″ mounting poles! We need a single sponsor for $3,500 or 14 individual sponsors for $300, to cover the shines, shipping, and installation. If interested, please see someone on staff today, or email us here!

♻️ Welcome Norwex Products to Make us Healthier!

Saint Miriam announced last week that we teamed up with one of our parishioners and Norwex, a company committed to making our parish – and your home – safer by radically reducing the use of chemicals that we use for everyday cleaning. The response has been great!  The products we often use contain harmful chemicals and irritants that can lead to all sorts of health problems, as well as some cancers. By changing to these new products, we can kill 99% of bacteria by just using water! Yes, water! Pretty exciting, huh?! Norwex uses a special cloth that contains a micro silver that is imbedded right in their special cloth. These special properties naturally eliminate mold, fungi, and bacterial odor within 24 hours and there are no harmful chemicals needed so our parish and our school will be safer.  And you can help! Just make a purchase for your own home by visiting the online page! 100% of your purchase makes a direct donation to the parish, too but we must act before July 27th so please make a purchase today!

🎗 Mass Intentions: A Legacy Gift…

As a Catholic parish we rely on the Sacrifice of the Mass, as a way to honor those we love! Did you know that you can remember someone living, as an ‘Honor of’ Mass Intention, or someone who has died with an ‘In Memorial of’ Mass Intention? You also can select the amount you wish to donate for the intention, but we request only a minimum donation of $10.00 for each request, if you are able. However, no amount will be turned away for your Mass Intentions. We also have two special intention categories: a Sanctuary Lamp Intention or Bread and Wine Sponsorships are available, too! And for each of these intention opportunities at Saint Miriam, an acknowledgement of your memorial will appear in the Sunday printed bulletin, online at our website, and during the announcements before every Mass; and we also offer a card that can be given to the family of the loved one, too! These are deeply moving and beautiful ways to honor our loved ones. 💚 A New Way to Go Green?

We have noted an increased use of plastic water bottles around the parish, plus a surge in water expenses, as we begin our summer journey for the first time on our new campus. So, Monsignor Jim authorized us to install a brand new way to get fresh, cool water and eliminate the use of a brand new water bottle every time with the new Elkay Water Bottle Filler installed to the existing water fountain in the Sanctuary hallway outside the main floor restrooms! It helps us all to be more green! Watch for a unique way to use it next week, too! A way to support both God’s good earth and the parish of Saint Miriam, too!

🚧 Parish Sanctuary Closed This Monday – Friday for Renovations!

We quickly realized that the warm weather has overwhelmed the air conditioning within the parish sanctuary. We only lived through part of a summer last year, and other needs took precedence. However, our Pastor has decided that we need to move ahead this year, especially with the weddings and events using the space, and the fact that those who sit on the left side are cold and those on the right warm! We will not ask for funds from the parish, but do ask that you (1) give regular offering, especially over the summer, (2) pray for us, (3) support our fund raisers, especially the luau and St Francis Statue. Thank you!

📅 Summer Schedule Changes!

Saint Miriam made a few changes to our schedule. One is temporary and one is permanent. The temporary one is for Thursday Masses at 6:00pm because from June – August we will only hold Masses when a priest is available to allow them some time to enjoy the summer. In September, the regular 6:00pm every Thursday will resume! However, Rosary will still be honored every week at 6:30pm on Thursdays with no interruption. The Sunday Late Mass at 4:00pm will end on Sunday, June 26th 2016. This is a permanent schedule change due to lack of enough participation.
